1 season down!

We made it through the first season of baseball!  Aiden loved it, which is all that matters at the end a few facts about this season.

-45 min drive to practice once a week for a sometimes 30 min practice. No lights it got dark we went home.
-Our team went through 3 coaches! (and the last one's son started playing for BC little league, so his son couldn't play but he couldn't let us get to a 4th coach so he came without his son.)
- Gary had to help coach on Saturday during the games which Gary and Aiden both enjoyed.
- Aiden favorite position is probably short stop and first base.
- Aiden asked me if next season I could buy him a few extra trophies.
- And my favorite and total bragging moment is this last game when Gary was sick so I had to help out on the field.  Aiden got up to bat and I heard the other team's coaches yell to their team "BACK IT UP!!"  
-We did love our team it was sad saying goodbye.  It was a laid back team filled with such great fun kids.  By the end of the season you find yourself so proud of each child and the progress each of them have made through out the season.

We have decided to switch over this next season to Little Leagues.  A few reason is closer to our home.  Organization we played teams from 4-25 kids.  They had so many kids they had to take shifts on the outfield and hitting.  The teams have to find a coach, practice location, and times.  Where Little Leagues takes care of all that.  And I'm excited that my friend Hillary will be his coach he will learn a lot, but at the same time have so much fun learning! 

This will be a reality check for Aiden! NYS you don't get called out and you only run one base at a time. He will have to hustle and get used to getting called out.  And know when to run or not to.   Also Aiden will go from one of the oldest kids on his team to a team of peers and some older, but that is good gives him good examples!  I'm also looking forward to more organization on the field.
