The Maynors are kind of like a tent it comes in this little tight bag and it takes forever to get it out of the bag and then BAM!! You have this huge tent set up in your living room and can't get around it. Then you get done with this huge tent and can NEVER shove it back in that little tiny bag...
This year Katelynn's teacher has pulled her out of her bag. The Maynor kids have a hard time being themselves once they leave the house. A few weeks into the school year they were separated into reading groups and for the first time ever she was not put in the highest group. The teacher let us know the two top groups read the same books but one group just sets there and discusses the book and the other groups goes off a worksheet. And all Katelynn had to do was to start talking and she would be moved up. About a week later I had a very happy daughter that she had made it to the top reading group. And has stayed right there. It was hard for at first but it is becoming more natural.
She tried out for Student Council the 4th and 5th grade but compete for one student council over 14 kids ran for TREASURE. I thought "WHAT!!! TReasure!!" They have primaries and then the top 2 had to give a speech. I don't even think Katelynn thought she would make it to the top 2. Which she was scared to death of the speech. And what would you know she made it to the top 2. She gave 2 speeches in front of the whole school! I was so impressed with her! She has loved being in the student council and enjoys the Friday meetings and getting out class early! :P
She recently started Dancing at the same place Maylee takes classes and she is loving it! It helps that two of her best friends are in the class.
After Christmas she joined Choir and is loving it!
